Collectia

While working at Webamp, I redesigned Collectia’s brand and website from start to finish. Collectia is a debt collection company, but they wanted to have something that felt more approachable and trustworthy to the public instead of cold and strict. I managed everything by myself, starting by developing a new visual identity and building a design system in Figma and finally launching the site in WordPress using YOOtheme. It was a project where I was trusted with full control over both design and development, which ultimately allowed me to show how thoughtful design can change how people’s perception can be altered around a sensible topic.

Challenges

Collectia wanted to change people’s perception and experience about debt collection. Their old site felt strict, uninviting and distant; they came because they felt it was time for a new approach to their business. The challenge was to design a brand and website that felt calm and respectful, but clear. Ultimately, it had to work for both potential clients and people who had already been in contact with them.

Results

The new design gave Collectia what they were looking for, a more approachable and modern presence. Customers could quickly find the information they were looking for, and the overall tone of the brand felt more approachable and trustworthy. Moreover, the delivered design system resulted in Collectia administrating their site without losing consistency effortlessly.

Process

As mentioned, before I led the project from start to finish while working at Webamp. I started by redesigning the visual identity with softer colours, implementing the use of friendly icons, and an overall warmer tone. Everything was created with the goal of making the company feel more human and less corporate.

Using the right tools, such as Figma, was pivotal when building the full design system that ultimately gave structure and consistency to the project. Once the designs were ready, I developed the site in WordPress using YOOtheme. I had a strong focus on a structure, that was intuitive and that clearly divided for the two user groups. The final product was a site that was responsive, easy to use, and stayed true to the new visual direction.

Conclusion

This project gave me full responsibility of concept, design, and development. It pushed me to implement a design that can shift the perception of a brand, especially in industries where trust is key. I walked away with a better understanding of how to create clear, thoughtful digital experiences that feel honest and human.
